The challenge:

To create display orders and end-consumer sales within the UK for THEWALL.

The challenge within the challenge:

This genuinely innovative concept was still a prototype when we first began working with THEWALL and their parent company OREA GmbH.

This meant that many fundamental elements needed to addressed before the concept could be sold as a fully thought-through product.

Our working method:

We have stood alongside this start-up as it has evolved from a prototype into a powerful, saleable commodity.

Our initial work put the prototype in front of a diverse range of professional buyers. Their feedback has influenced the product and more importantly, how it is delivered into each market.

Our consultancy steered the brand owners from their original supply chain concept of centralised German manufacture, to working with licensed fabrication partners in each market.

The pivot:

THEWALL had envisaged that all production would take place at a central fabrication centre in Germany, with individual kitchen retailers ordering and receiving finished units shipped directly from there.


The sales strategy for THEWALL switched to a licensing model, where the concept of THEWALL was licensed to established fabrication partners.

Our challenge was reframed, THEWALL now needed local fabrication partners.



The client:

THEWALL was born out of OREA AG, a swiss kitchen furniture brand.

Originally part of a new kitchen range, THEWALL element attracted high praise from many industry retailers when it was presented.

Recognising the commercial potential, OREA redefined THEWALL as its own product line and began the near continuous R&D that has brought the product to life.

The brand owners are highly creative and very driven, with an infectious enthusiasm that has made this project a joy to work on.

The solution:

It was during 'part three' of our consultancy with THEWALL that we proposed 'the pivot' to partnering with carefully selected UK glass and solid surface to fabricators. Our thinking was that this would allow them to use THEWALL as a differentiator in their own sales activity, whilst granting THEWALL access to their client network.


Simultaneously, THEWALL in Germany moved away from dealing directly with Kitchen Studios and appointed Lechner GmbH as its fabrication partner.


Working in collaboration EMEA Associated Partners Netherlands Bureau, Kitchen Alchemy was instrumental in introducing THEWALL to Dekker, the largest fabricator in Holland, who have a subsidiary factory in Scandinavia.  THEWALL® by Dekker was born.


When Lechner GmbH filed for bankruptcy in late 2021, our work in introducing Dekker took on even more significance. If required, Dekker are able to step-up and supply the German market. This saved THEWALL from having to start over in its home market.


Here in the UK we have secured displays as part of a partnership with renowned Chef Cyrus Todiwala OBE DL FIH and his cooking school at  Café Spice Namaste.


UK retail orders have been supplied.


We are actively seeking specialist fabrication partners in the UK to complete this project.

EMEA Associated Partners are not mandated by THEWALL, but as Kitchen Alchemy we were able to call upon the local market expertise of the head of their Netherlands Bureau, Peter Schutte to faciliate the introduction of THEWALL & Dekker.
